Day 01 : Arrive Delhi By: Flight
Arrive Delhi, Meet & greet service at Indira Gandhi Airport, Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi - Paro By: Flight

Early Morning transfer in time from Hotel to Airport to board your flight to Paro.

  1. Arrive Paro, Meeting & assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
  2. After few hours of rest at the hotel, around 11: 30 a.m. proceed to visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of the country which fascinating collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps. The museum circular shape augments its varied collection displayed over several floors.
  3. Post lunch, proceed on a driving excursion to Chelela pass (3,988m). About an hour’s drive along a thickly forested road, this pass is a botanical paradise. The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Chomolhari and Jichu Drake. It is also marked by hundreds of prayer flags fluttering in the wind.
  4. From Chelela pass, embark on a walking excursion to Kila Goenpa. It is the serene home of Buddhist nuns who have dedicated their life for spiritual fulfilment and leading undisturbed life of religious studies, prayer and meditation. The monastery is nestled in a craggy patch on mountain side below the Chelela pass and perched precariously along the rock face. From Chelela pass, the lhakhang is about an hour walk amidst magnificent, wooded area.

Evening return to the hotel.

Overnight Hotel Olathnag or similar, Paro.

Day 03 : Paro By: Surface
  1. After b/fast, witness Paro Tshechu (festival). Paro Tshechu is one of the most popular festivals in Bhutan, held annually since the 17th century when Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the founder of the state of Bhutan, and Ponpo Rigzin Nyingpo initiated the festival together with the consecration of Paro Dzong (fortress) in 1644. Paro Tshechu (festival) is one of the best ways to experience the ancient living culture of Bhutan.
  2. Then embark on a fascinating excursion to Taktsang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest (approx. 5 hours round trip walk).

Day 04 : Paro - Punakha (approx 124Kms 04 Hrs) By: Surface
  1. Morning after b/fast, drive to a village monastery for blessing ceremony followed by lighting of butter lamps.
  2. Then drive to Paro Dzong to witness Paro Tshechu (festival).
  3. Post lunch, visit Kyichulhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the country, linked with introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan.
  4. Then drive onto Punakha, across Dochula pass (3,088m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan.

Day 05 : Punakha By: Surface
  1. After b/fast visit magnificent Punakha Dzong.
  2. Then proceed on a short walking excursion to Chimi Lhakhang of ‘Fertility Temple’.
  3. Afterwards excursion to beautiful Talo village.
  4. En route interesting lunch at traditional Bhutanese home stay, enjoying characteristic Bhutanese hospitality.
  5. Explore lovely Talo village and village temple.
  6. A short drive from Talo village is Nalanda Buddhist Institute where you’ll have an opportunity interact with monks on Buddhism, process of meditation.

Day 06 : Punakha - Gangtey (approx 85 Kms 03 Hrs) By: Surface
  1. After b/fast, visit to Sangchenn Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang (nunnery). It houses a 14-foot main bronze statue of Avalokiteshvara and of Guru Padsambhava, Gautam Buddha, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, Tsela Namsum, the 21 Taras and Tsepamay (Buddha of longevity). The temple complex also houses a permanent higher learning and meditation centre for nuns where, apart from religious training, it provides life skill training such as tailoring, embroidery, statue making and thangkha painting.
  2. Then drive onto Gangtey.
  3. Post lunch, visit GangteyGoenpa, the largest Nyingmapa sect monastery in the country.
  4. Then take a stroll in beautiful Gangtey village.
  5. Enjoy evening tea / coffee at a village farmhouse.

Day 07 : Gangtey. By: Surface
  1. Early morning witness prayer ceremony at the monastery.
  2. Then return to the hotel for breakfast.
  3. Later approx. 5 hour of walking excursion to Tangjey Lhakhang with packed lunch.
  4. Evening at leisure in fascinating Phobjkha valley.

Day 08 : Gangtey - Thimphu (approx 150 Kms 05 Hrs)By: Surface
  1. After b/fast, drive to Gangtey.
  2. On the way visit newly restored Wangdue Dzong.
  3. Then drive onward with lunch stop at Dochula pass.
  4. Also prayer flag hoisting at Dochula pass.
  5. Then drive onward to Thimphu.
  6. On arrival in Thimphu, visit to Memorial Chorten, the stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King who is popularly regarded as Father of modern Bhutan.
  7. Then visit to Textile Museum, for an insight into Bhutan’s one of the most distinct art form.
  8. Evening to explore Thimphu city centre.

Day 09 : Thimphu By: Surface
  1. After b/fast drive to Buddha Dordenma to see the largest statue of Buddha in the country. Here at Buddha Point, you’ll also have opportunity to meditate at a designated area.
  2. Then proceed on a two-hour nature walk to Tango Monastery.
  3. Post lunch, visit Zilukha Nunnery.
  4. Then a special visit to Pangri Zampa which also has an astrological institute. You’ll have here opportunity of astrological predictions on Buddhist traditions.
  5. Afterward visit to Trashichhoedzong, beautiful medieval fortress / monastery.
  6. Evening visit colourful & vibrant Thimphu’s weekend market and local craft bazaar.

Day 10 : Thimphu - Paro (approx 55 Kms 01 Hrs 30 Min) By: Surface
  1. After b/fast transfer to Paro airport for flight to Delhi.
  2. Upon arrival in Delhi, assistance and meeting by our representative and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the City of Delhi.
Day 11 : Departure Delhi By: Intl Flight
In time transfer from Hotel to Airport to board the flight to inward destination.
