Day 01 : Arrive Delhi By: Intl Flight
Meeting upon arrival by INDI TRAILS Representative and transfer to Hotel Delhi – Capital of modern India “The Heart of India” . Many dynasties and rulers have flourished on its regal soil over the last 3000 years. The legacy still survives in many monuments varying from the 13th century mausolea of the Lodi King to that of imperial India’s Parliament House and the President House. Where medieval palaces and bazars exist beside a modern metropolis. Delhi is the city waiting to be explored, so enjoy it! Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi - Samode
After Breakfast we will commence our combined sightseeing tour of the famous historical sights in Old & New Delhi, visiting the Raj Ghat - memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Drive past the Red Fort (1639-48) built by the builder of The Taj Mahal – Shah Jehan; visit Jama Mosque - the largest mosque in India; your tour of New Delhi begins with the drive past the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House and President's Residence. Visit visit Humayun’s Tomb (1565 AD), aptly called the predecessor of The Taj Mahal, Safdarjang’s Tomb (1753 AD) on the way to the Qutab Minar (1193 A.D.) this striking medieval tower of victory of Persian World is 73 m high. Within the Qutab complex, amidst the ruins of Quwat-ul-Islam mosque, stands the Iron pillar which has stood the vagaries of weather and has not rusted over 1500 years. ( OPTIONAL : Rickshaw Ride in Chandani Chowk) After sightseeing drive on to Samode. Arrive Samode. Enjoy the Puppet Show at the Palace in the evening. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 03 : Jaipur-Samode (approx 45 Kms 01 Hrs ) By: Surface
Morning your Tour guide would stroll you around this small town to give you a glimpse of this small Village yet not so distant from the Urbanized living in Jaipur. Visit to a Primary School ( Open daily from Mon-Fri except on Public Holidays & Weekends). Latter drive to Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur and Check-in at the Hotel. Jaipur - The capital of Rajasthan, this picturesque city is a symphony in pink, a color which symbolises hospitality in Rajput culture. Built by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th century it is surrounded by hills topped with rugged fortresses and dotted with fairy tale palaces. Ambling camels and brightly dressed peasants, reflect Jaipur’s desert heritage while teeming markets display a profusion of handlooms and crafts. Come visit the city of love, legends and lore. Afternoon free at leisure or explore the Local Bazaar, visit Choti or Baadi Chopat . OPTIONAL: BALOONING EXPERIENCE in the MORNING at SAMODE or IN the afternoon at JAIPUR. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 04 : Jaipur By: Surface
After breakfast, we will enjoy an excursion to Amer Fort 12 kms outside Jaipur. Drive Past the HAWA MAHAL.. Built of red and pink sandstone, the palace is situated on the main thoroughfare in the heart of Jaipur’s business centre. It forms part of the CityPalace, and extends to the Zenana or women's chambers, the chambers of the harem. It is particularly striking when viewed early in the morning, lit with the golden light of sunrise. Its unique five-storey exterior is also akin to the honeycomb of the beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas that are decorated with intricate latticework..The original intention of the lattice was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen, since they had to observe strict "purdah" (face cover). View the façade and take back the Picture perfect façade in your Camera. ( Visit not foreseen from inside). Later drive on to Amer Fort : The original palace was built by Raja Mansingh the additions were made by Sawai Jai Singh. One of the finest example of Rajput architecture, it was the ancient capital of Kaisshawah rulers. Enjoy the ascent to the palace on back of a brightly caparisoned elephant ( Subject to availability otherwise the ascent would be by Jeeps). We tour the chamber and hallways of the palace which are famous for their design and decorations. This unique capital of the erstwhile warrior kings is a must on every tourist itinerary to the state. Afternoon we will tour the walled city of Jaipur a shopper’s paradise famous for handicrafts, jewellery and list goes on……. We will also visit the unique Jantar Mantar magnificent stone observatory built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728. The Hawa Mahal, the intriguing “ Palace of Winds” is really a facade built in 1799, to allow royal ladies to view the city from the windows. Visit the CityPalace, former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style and its museums an excellent collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armoury. Evening : OPTIONAL DINNER & FOLK DANCES AT A PALACE HOTEL. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL
Day 05 : Jaipur- Ranthambore (approx 160 Kms 04 Hrs ) By: Surface
Morning drive from Jaipur to Ranthambore . Ranthambhore, hailed as one of India's finest wildlife destinations, is located near the town of Sawai Madhopur, which is around 180 km south east of Jaipur in Rajasthan. It was established as a sanctuary in 1959 and included in the very first phase of Project Tiger in 1972. In 1981, Ranthambhore was awarded the status of a National Park. The park derives its name from the 11th century fort of Ranthambhore, which sits on a rocky outcrop in the forest. The fort was a vital citadel for the control of central India. Though overrun by vegetation, remnants of the summer palaces, temples and guard stones within the fort still remain. Earlier the hunting reserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur, the park at Ranthambhore was once the scene of royal hunting parties. Today, it is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators in the wild. The tigers can be spotted quite often even during the day, busy in their normal pursuits - especially stalking or hunting and taking care of their young. With the strict measures that have been taken for their conservation, they seem quite accustomed to human presence and are not disturbed by it. LUNCH at the Hotel. Afternoon safari to National park to view the wild life. Dinner & Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 06 : Ranthambore-Agra (approx 270 Kms 07 Hrs) By: Surface
Early Morning Safari to National park to View the wild life ( In Canter- Safari Vehicle) Return back to Hotel for Breakfast. After Breakfast drive from Ranthambore to AGRA. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri This deserted, red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar, between 1570 and 1585, now glows in its magnificent past. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza (The Gate of Victory), set in the south wall. In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of Shaik Salim Chishti, built in 1570. Legend says, Akbar was without a male heir, he made a pilgrimage to this spot, the saint foretold the birth of Akbar’s son, Jehangir. In gratitude Akbar named his son Salim. After the visit continue your drive to Agra Agra – The ancient city once the capital of Mughal empire in the 16th and 17th century, depicting a gorgeous panaroma of majestic architectural creations and a rich tradition of art and culture. Housing one of seven wonder’s of the World, the marble symphony of Shah Jahan “The Taj Mahal” . Discover the dazzling creations of their craftsmen in other architectural marvels in Agra, the quintessential mughal city. Arrive Agra and Check-in at the Hotel for Overnight stay.
Day 07 : AgraBy: Surface
Morning begin your sightseeing of Agra visiting Sikandra. The mausoleum of Akbar lies at the centre of a huge garden, which is enclosed by high walls. The main entrance is inlaid with white marble and each corner of the gateway seats four marble minarets. Return Back to Agra to visit to the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah “a jewel box in a marble”. This mausoleum was built by the empress Nur Jahan as a gesture of love for her father. The tomb is built of the finest Indian marble embellished with mosaics and beautiful inlay work of semi precious stones. The central chamber contains the yellow marble tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah and his wife. The tomb is painted with floral decorations and fine marble screens of geometric latticework suffuse the interior in a soft light. Afternoon visit one of the important architectural monuments in Agra - The Agra Fort built by Emperor Akbar, the maze of courtyards; mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire. EVENING OPTIONAL : ‘Mohabbat-the-Taj’ – a series of play depicting the saga of love. The true and immortal love of Shajahan for Mumtaj Mahal- his beautiful wife; the lavish lifestyle of mughal era; emaculate hardship of the artisans for 22 years that created the most precious specimen of craftsmanship... ‘Mohabbat-the-Taj’ at ‘Kalakriti is exceptionally inviting. The effort to hold up the cultural and historical legacy of India is worth a glance. So, witness the Indian heritage come alive.
Day 08 : Agra-Delhi (approx 200Kms 05 Hrs) By: Surface
Early morning before sunrise we will visit the Taj Mahal (Fridays closed) – one of the Seven Wonders of the World built by Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his beloved consort Mumtaz Mahal. This beautiful mausoleum took 22 years to complete with a work force of 20,000. Craftsmen and master builders came from all over Asia to join in the great work – from Baghdad, Shiraz, Delhi, Samarkand and Turkey. The marble, India’s finest, was quarried at Makrana near Jodhpur. Precious and semi precious stones were imported from distant lands: Jasper from the Punjab, Jade & Crystal from China, Turquoise from Tibet, Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan and Ceylon, Chrysolite from Egypt, Amethysts from Persia, Agates from Yemen, Malachite from Russia Diamonds from Golconda and Mother of Pearl from the Indian ocean. Return Back to Hotel to enjoy your Breakfast. Late Morning drive back to DELHI. Upon arrival Check in at a Hotel close to Airport Where Day use rooms for wash and Change have been reserved for you to wash and change before your flight back to Germany ( Rooms Reserved till 2100 Hrs) Late Night transfer in time to Airport to Board your flight back to Germany OPTIONAL : BOLLYWOOD EXTRAVAGANZA at THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS, Gurgaon
